Comme Ca Art and AWOL Studios invite submissions from artists living in the North of England and the Midlands*. Work may be submitted in any 2D or 3D media, including video, sound or performance. All work must have been completed within the previous two years.

The Comme Ca Art x AWOL Studios Open Call Exhibition
First Prize Award: £2,000
Highly Commended Award: £500
Submissions will be shortlisted and presented to a panel of external judges. The winner and highly commended artist will be selected from the shortlist.

How to Enter
• Each artist can submit up to two artworks. Please fill in the separate entry form HERE
• Maximum size: All works must be able to fit through a standard door frame approximately 77cm wide x 210cm high.
• Submission deadline: Monday 27 April 2026 (midnight).
• Entry fee: £10 per work submitted. Submission does not guarantee selection and entry fees are non-refundable.
• After submitting your entry form, a payment link via SumUp will be sent by email. Please allow a few days for this to arrive.

Additional Information
• If selected, all works must arrive ready to install, with appropriate hanging fixtures or clear display instructions.
• Artwork will be installed by our technicians. Artists do not need to be present.
• The Private View and winner announcement will take place on Friday 19 June 2026 from 6pm to 8pm.
• The exhibition runs from Friday 19 June until Saturday 11 July 2026.
• Opening times: Wednesday and Thursday 11am–4pm by appointment, and Saturday 11am–2pm.
• Collection of artworks: Tuesday 14 July, Wednesday 15 July and Thursday 16 July 2026, 11am–2pm. Artists must book a collection slot directly with Comme Ca Art Gallery.

Artists must be based in one of the following areas:
Northumberland / Tyne & Wear / Cumbria / County Durham / Lancashire / Yorkshire / Greater Manchester / Merseyside / Cheshire / Shropshire / Staffordshire / Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire / Lincolnshire
Terms and Conditions
By entering the COMME CA ART x AWOL Studios Open Call 2026, artists agree that:
a) The submitted work is executed by the artist and is their bona fide property, and no other person holds financial or other interest in the work.
b) The artist holds all intellectual property rights in the work and has obtained prior written approval for the use of any third-party copyrighted material included in the submission.
c) The work must have been completed within the previous two years.
d) The work will be available for the exhibition dates listed above.
e) Artists take full responsibility for delivery, insurance and transportation of any selected work.
f) All artwork must be for sale. Comme Ca Art charges 40 percent commission on each sale. Prices should reflect this prior to submission.
g) The artist resides within one of the eligible regions listed above.
h) Submission does not guarantee selection.
i) Entry fees of £10 per submission are non-refundable.
j) Artists agree to allow AWOL Studios and Comme Ca Art to use images of their artwork for publicity associated with Open Call 2026.
k) AWOL Studios and Comme Ca Art are not liable for loss or damage to artwork during the exhibition. Artists are advised to arrange their own insurance.
l) Any unsold work not collected within one calendar month of the final collection date becomes the property of Comme Ca Art and may be disposed of.
