Julia Milns is a multi-disciplinary artist who studied Fine Art at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa.  She has participated in several group exhibitions and has recently had a solo exhibition at the Waterside Arts Centre in Manchester.

Working in paint, varied drawing media, clay and more recently, with glass and wood, her works connect ideas and develop narratives in the making process.  Her works refer to struggle, resilience and adaption to changing environments, habitats or ecosystems in relation to climate.

 Julia has participated in local projects to rewild areas and encourage wildlife with Manchester City of Trees and managed an allotment project.  Alongside her art practice, she has planned, programmed and facilitated art workshops and community installations for people of all ages and abilities, created theatre wall designs works and worked as an assistant curator.
