Jenny Walker is an artist and creative researcher whose work explores the relationship between heritage, place, stories and creative interpretation. Partnership working is central to practice, enabling her to develop engagement projects with cultural and community organisations across a range of arts disciplines.
Her research is grounded in tangible evidence, including archives, historic sites and collections, believing that artist engagement with these materials can make a valuable contribution to how regional histories are interpreted, shared and understood. She has received funding for artist research projects that explore these themes.
Jenny has a background in object making and spent 10 years as a Senior Lecturer in Design at Manchester School of Art. Her projects always reflect a sustained interest in the material and physical environment.
