Since my mid-teens I would say my studio practice has been governed by my battle with body image, weight and personal identity. My drawings are an expression of how frustrated I feel with others and myself. I am frustrated because I question my self-worth every time I turn on the television, open a magazine and walk down the street and no matter how hard I try I just can’t shake the feeling of inadequacy.

Since the completion of my studies in 2009 I have been working on a series of large scale self-portraits. Through the repetitive study of my own face I seek to set aside the cultural/political issues  I have previously touched upon within my practice and to simply explore the surface, form and structure.
