Hatitze
Achmet has been living and working in Manchester since 2018. She was born and
raised in Greece. Between 2011-2017 she lived in Istanbul, where she studied
painting at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. During and after her studies
she took part in a number of group exhibitions and workshops.
In 2016 after
her graduation, she was hosted at the “One year in the Passage” project for
young artists in Istanbul. In the period of 2017-2018 she worked on her ‘OLYMPOS’,
‘BOTANICAL GARDENS’, ‘REFLECTIONS’ and ‘CONNECTIONS’ series.
Her latest works
are the ‘Reflections’ and ‘Connections’ projects. Hatitze aims to reflect what
she gets from the world around her. We see a confusing scene in her canvases
and chaotic city plans on her paper works. We can see only some parts of the
people, things, nature or city which are depicted in her works.
Beside her basic
practice on oil painting she is practicing on linocut printing. Her interest is
concentrated on the surfaces, the textures and the materials which she uses
each time.
